What Is Flexible Office Space?

In a flexible space, you have several options for renting part to full time office space.

We offer small business flexible office space for getting their work done. But what exactly is flexible office space?

Our flexible office space is just an area that is available for you to use for working on a part-time basis. When you are not working there, another professional may be using the same space to work on their own business activities.

How is flex space different from an office?

In a flexible space, you have several options for renting part to full time office space.

We provide everything you need including power, wifi, printer, trash service, and refreshments. You bring your laptop and get to work.

While the workspace is meant to be a quiet area, there may be other members nearby typing away at the same time as you.

An office, on the other hand, is a private space leased to you and only you. You have a lock and a key and no other individuals can work in your space while you are there or while you are away.

How is flex space different from coworking?

Typically, in a coworking environment, all spaces are open and available at all times. However, at HBC our workspaces are specific to you.

You also do have the option to use other open areas to work if you prefer, but you are guaranteed your reserved space during your reserved hours.

What are the benefits of flex space?

It’s cheap. One of the biggest benefits is the cost. It is very inexpensive to work in our flex space versus the higher expense of maintaining a private office.

Everything is included. From the wifi to cleaning and trash service, your only responsibility is to get stuff done.

Look professional. Members can use our address as their business address which is much more professional than a P.O. Box and instills confidence in your customers.

Networking and collaboration. Take advantage of our networking events and business seminars to meet your fellow members. Who knows, you may be able to work together for mutual benefit.

No long term lease. Flex space is meant for businesses who need a temporary or short term space*. There’s no lease agreement**, deposit, credit check, or any other formality often seen in office leases.

*Memberships and private desks are billed by the month. Month to month automatic renewals apply until you cancel. (See pricing details)

**You will have to agree to and sign our rules and policies.

What are the disadvantages of flex space?

With convenience also comes some inconvenience.

You are not alone. Perhaps this is not a negative for you, but for some people the fact that others are working nearby can be distraction. Talking is discouraged unless all members consent to conversation.

Some space may not be available. The point of being flexible is that the space can be used for many different things. This means that sometimes a member may renting some space or a conference room when you want it. Of course, you can always book the space ahead of time to reserve it for yourself.

You can’t bring your clients. You cannot arrange to meet your clients within the workspace without prior arrangement/reservation of meeting space ahead of time.

The space is not yours. Members are not permitted to refurnish, rearrange, reorganize, hang anything on the walls, or otherwise modify the furnishings and decor within the flexible office space. Personal belongings must be collected and removed when you leave the office. *Some exceptions apply to private desk rental.
